Gildas Delaporte (1964-2020) double bassist, carillonneur and chansonnier during his life, wrote beautiful songs to texts by great French poets such as Victor Hugo, Charles Baudelaire, Marceline Desbordes-Valmore and Pierre de Ronsard. His musical style is reminiscent of Brassens, Brel or Trenet and his chansons take for granted as if they have always existed. With these exuberantly cheerful or melancholy moving chansons he toured theaters, churches and pubs in the Netherlands and France.
