Singer Karin Strobos, pianist Daria van den Bercken and flutist Felicia van den End make a success of their differences. The diverse sound worlds of voice, flute and piano: put them together and it works. They each bring in their own taste and experiences, resulting in a thick scoop of whipped cream on their impressive solo careers.

Karin Strobos starts as an understudy at De Nederlandse Opera. Due to the illness of the lead singer, however, she was unexpectedly asked to sing the premiere in the important role of Octavian from Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss. It will be her impressive debut with De Nederlandse Opera and her international breakthrough.

In 2007 she graduated with distinction from the Utrecht Conservatory. She attends the international Liedklas of the German baritone Udo Reinemann. She has won many prizes, such as the international singing competition in Mâcon, and, together with Daria van den Bercken and Felicia van den End, the audience award in the concert series Het Debuut.

Karin Strobos plays in opera productions by, among others, De Nederlandse Opera, Opera Zuid and the Nationale Reisopera. She can also be heard frequently at various festivals and orchestras, including the Grachtenfestival, where she won the prize of the same name in 2011. In 2012, Strobos is asked by the Saturday Matinee for the opera 'Andreas weent' by Peter-Jan Wagemans. After a concert in January 2013 with the Noord Nederlands Orkest, she received the Gouden Viooltje, a prize for exceptional musical talent from the Northern Netherlands. Strobos performs opera roles in 'Armide (Wotq.45)' by Christoph Willibald von Gluck at the Dutch Opera and as Rosina in 'Il barbiere di Siviglia' by Gioacchino Rossini.

In 1990, pianist Daria van den Bercken started studying piano in the young talent class of the Rotterdam Conservatory with the Russian pianist Mila Baslawskaja and later with Naum Grubert at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and with Leonard Hokanson and Menahem Pressler at the famous Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington. Indiana, USA.
Daria wins first prize at various competitions, such as the national Princess Christina Competition, the Steinway Competition and the competition of the Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland.

In 2007 Daria makes her solo debut with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra with the piano concerto by Clara Schumann. The Dutch press calls it 'Daria's resounding debut'. Since then she has been a regular soloist with this formidable orchestra.

She regularly performs with a range of important musicians such as baritone Henk Neven, clarinetist Michael Collins, bassoonist Bram van Sambeek, the Russian Atrium Quartet and the Dutch quartets Parkanyi and Ruysdael.

She is going to delve into Georg Friedrich Händel and decides to realize a CD recording herself through crowdfunding and manages to collect the largest amount for the recording via sensational concerts and the internet. For this special project 'Händel at the piano' she received the Amsterdam Art Prize 2012.

Flute player Felicia van den End starts playing the flute at the age of ten. In 1998 Van den End is admitted to the Young Talent class of the Utrecht Conservatory where she will study with Abbie de Quant. She soon finds a place as a flutist in the Domstad Youth Orchestra. Both in 1997 and 1998 Felicia van den End won first prize at the National Flute Competition. In 2002 Van den End goes on tour through Japan.

She also won the first prize at the Princess Christina Competition. This resulted in a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York. And another first prize, this time at the international flute competition Jeunesses Musicales in Bucharest. At the end of this year, Van den End will be awarded the 'Essent Music Award' for young talent.

In 2005 she starts to study in Paris at the Conservatoire National de Supérieur with Pierre-Yves Artaud. This year there will also be performances with the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester and the Gustav Mahler Academy Orchestra. She completes her postgraduate studies in Geneva with Jacques Zoon.

She regularly appears in concert halls in the Netherlands and abroad such as the United States, Japan, South Africa, the Middle East, Germany and France. Felicia van den End is a member of the New European Ensemble that focuses on performing contemporary music.
