Karel Boehlee - Piano
Pianist Karel Boehlee is an internationally renowned pianist whose play is characterized by an amalgam of lyricism, groove and intuition. He always ensures a special musical chemistry, in whatever combination. It was once described by a reviewer as one "Almost telepathic contact" with his fellow musicians. It's not for nothing that Karel has been working closely with musicians such as Toon Roos since the 1980s and one of the favorite pianists was van Toots Thielemans. The albums Attitudes, Free At Last, Love Revisited and Angel Dance by Toon Roos Quartet are among the classics in the Dutch jazz oeuvre. Karel has performed with countless groups including that of Gino Vannelli, Philip Catherine, Bob Sheppard, Fay Claassen and Maria Mendes. He is a teacher at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.

With his intuitive, lyrical and balanced playing Bird winner
Toon Roos is considered one of the best tenor and soprano saxophonists
of the contemporary jazz world. He has played since his debut in 1984
along with jazz greats such as Ivan Lins, Peter Erskine, Joe Zawinul, John
Scofield, Toots Thielemans, Vince Mendoza and the Metropole Orchestra. He
developed his own "sound" by playing different styles, from
big band swing tradition to hardbop, from bossa to pop, funk and fusion. With
his quartet he played in major halls such as London's Hammersmith
Apollo and the Olympia in Paris.

Angelo Verploegen’s track record is dizzying in both jazz and
pop aswell as the classical music world. He worked with the biggest names,
such as Larry Goldings, Idris Muhammed, Bob Brookmeyer, Jazz Orchestra of
the Concertgebouw, Louis Andriessen, Gino Vanelli, Trijntje Oosterhuis,
Candy Dulfer and Frank Boeijen. He is best known as a co-
leader / producer of the renowned The Houdini’s Sextet and has played with The Houdini's
in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw in the 1995
Classics In Jazz program . Together with Nieuw Sinfonietta Amsterdam
they play an arrangement of music from the opera Porgy And Bess by
George Gershwin in a beautiful arrangement by Bert van den Brink. The
CD will be released later that year on the classic label Channel Crossings. His resume
