Listen to the magical interaction between Cor Bakker and Fay Claassen and you will hear it. One plus one can be much more than two. In their collaboration, they not only lift each other to the highest level, but also the repertoire they bring takes on an extra charge. That is why their program 'Cor-i-Fay' is the countless variety of music, text and enchantment.
Their theater concert was entitled 'Cor-i-Fay'. Not just a play on words with their names, but also with their images and their backgrounds. In between the songs they tell comical anecdotes about it. "I'm just Cor from the Jordaan, where you quickly think of a chores to mop the kitchen," says Cor. ,,But Fay has the aura and appearance of a fairy. She is the daughter of a painter. She always carries that artistic, elegant image with her. Hence Cor-i-Fay." (note: the Dutch word for "fairy" is "fee". the pronunciation is very similar.)
At this theater concert they give the most beautiful songs a podium. For example, Dutch gems by Annie M.G. Schmidt and the Klein Orkest, but also international successes by Cole Porter and John Lennon. All recognizable songs that touch your heart, because they open the door to memories, desires and special moments that everyone carries with them. Fay: ,,Apart from jazz, it is wonderful to work with Cor on a broad spectrum from pop to cabaret. Especially that Dutch-language drawer has remained closed for far too long for me."
